My wife Donna and I moved to Spain from the stunningly beautiful but very wet English Lake District in January 2008. We bought an old farmhouse in Almería and have settled down in this fantastic part of the country.
My first memory of drawing was sitting at an aunt’s bureau in Suffolk when I was about five, and being taught how to hold a brush correctly! Throughout my life I continued to paint and whilst in Keswick developed a business hand-painting and firing tile panels for clients who wanted something special to adorn their kitchens.
During this time I taught a large adult education class and as the Internet Revolution took hold, I began to teach my various painting courses online through my website www.artclasspro.com, contining to add more courses when we moved to Spain. I also tutor on various painting holidays in the UK, Portugal, France, and Spain.
I now paint in watercolours and in water-mixable oils, and enjoy painting en plein air as well as in the studio. I am a member of the Almanzora Artists group - a collection of professional artists in southern Spain - and exhibit with them and in solo exhibitions.
